Healthcare & med-tech. Minnesota's medical-device and care-delivery strength meets one of the world's fastest-growing health economies. Maharashtra is building the 250-acre Navi Mumbai International MediCity, and Indian hospital networks, clinical-trial sites, and device makers are seeking US partners for manufacturing, research, and training.

Agriculture & ag-tech. Central Minnesota's agribusiness depth in precision agriculture, cold chain, and food processing pairs naturally with Maharashtra's farm output and rapidly modernizing supply chains, opening joint ventures in equipment, storage, and value-added processing.

Energy & manufacturing. Maharashtra's industrial corridors and clean-energy push open sourcing, co-manufacturing, and technology-transfer opportunities for Minnesota firms in precision manufacturing, renewables, and grid technology.

Education, tech & AI. Pune's universities and software parks, plus a partnership formalized with Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) at the Symbiosis International Logistics & Ports Management Conference (SILPMC '26), January 2026, create direct paths for Minnesota institutions in research, IT services, workforce exchange, and applied AI.

Tourism & culture. Beyond commerce, the mission builds lasting people-to-people ties through hospitality, heritage, and cultural exchange between Central Minnesota and Maharashtra that sustain the business relationships over time.
